JetBlue is low cost airline in the United States. The airline was founded in 1999 under the name NewAir. Currently, the carrier serves 97 destinations in the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. JetBlue is headquartered in Long Island City, NY with its main base located at JFK international Airport. The airline also maintains a corporate office in Cottonwood Heights, UT.

 

JetBlue Flight Attendant Job Requirements:

To become a flight attendant, there are minimum requirements that must be met. The general requirements are covered in the post Flight Attendant Requirements. This section will discuss the requirements specific to JetBlue.

  • Must be a least 20 years old
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Able to reach 6’3″ (without shoes)
  • Height proportional to your weight
    • Ability to walk and fit comfortably down aircraft aisle
    • Fit through over-wing exit
    • Able to sit in jumpseat without modifications or seatbelt extensions
  • Vision corrected to 20/20
  • Possess a current and valid passport
    • Including ability to travel unrestricted in and out of destinations served by JetBlue
    • Passport should have a minimum of 6 months validity
  • Legal right to work in the United States
  • Successfully complete a 10 year background and criminal history check
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak proficiently in English
  • Pass a physical/medical exam
    • Including ability to lift 50 lbs from floor to above shoulders
  • Successfully complete a customer service assessment
  • Successfully complete flight attendant training program
    • Including initial training and annual training programs
  • Ability to work flexible hours, days, and holidays

 

To obtain a flight attendant job with JetBlue, strong considerations will be given to flight attendant candidates:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • With two years of customer service
    • Face-to-face environment
    • Proactively resolving customer issues regularly
  • Who can speak one or more additional languages
    • Spanish is desirable

 

Other requirements that may be helpful:

  • Able to work in a team
  • Able to function effectively with limited hands-on supervisory guidance
  • Possess a strong passion for quality customer service
  • Knowledge of basic computer and electronic tablet devices
  • Must adhere to JetBlue Inflight Crewmember Uniform and Appearance Standards

 

JetBlue Base Cities and Airports:

Starting a flight attendant career can be great for people who love to travel. In this career you may work one or several flights per day. When the required airline training program has been successfully completed, you will be assigned a base location. This is the city JetBlue has hired you to work from; therefore, you have to report to work at the designated city and airport. Depending on your current location, this may require you to commute into the base city to work or require potential relocation to the designated city.

Relocation:

  • Must be able to report with 2 hours of notice to assigned base location
